I had the pleasure of visiting the new Lina Iris Viktor exhibition at the Autograph Gallery in London and haven’t quite recovered since..I was struck by the beauty of he space .
The gallery had been transformed into a dark forest of man made structures resembling organic tracery patterns surrounded by tropical plants that had been painted black.
Within the blackened verdant space were glimpses of gold artwork that could only be viewed by negotiating through the space whilst being offered tantalising glimpses of the large scale art.
Lina created her works using a mixture of photography, 24 carat gold and paint, the downstairs gallery is predominantly black and gold whilst upstairs is infused with the blues of ancient Egypt embedded with Lina’s majestic portraiture.
The exhibition is on until January 25th 2020
